Freedom of Beach Running

Beach running is not only a beautiful, peaceful and uplifting running experience, it can also help to really improve your running and your stamina.  Running along the beach in the soft dry sand is much more difficult than running along a hard, level road or track meaning that you have to work even harder, but the reward of a splash in the water when you’ve finished is a great incentive to make running along the beach an even better idea.

Although the naturalist in all of us would welcome the idea of running along the beach in bare feet and feeling the sand between our toes, realistically, unless your feet are used to bare foot running you can do yourself more harm than good, and I don’t just mean the risk of standing on something sharp.  On the other hand (or more accurately “other foot”), the idea of running along the beach in your average running shoes is not a pleasant thought, although perfectly adapted for running they can be, well, more than a little restrictive. That’s what makes Reef running sandals the perfect alternative.

Reef Running Sandals – Perfect for Beach Running

Reef running sandals have many of the benefits of running in well designed and fitted running shoes, with the added advantage of being able to run straight into the water afterwards for a well deserved, cooling paddle. In actual fact, Reef running sandals are so well made and comfortable that many people wear them for all of their leisure time, whether they are walking, running, boating or just chillin’.

A personal trainer can help you with your beach workouts.

There are many different designs of Reef running sandals available, and, to be honest, some are better for running along the beach than others, although they’re all perfect for taking a stroll, a brisk walk and a quick paddle to cool your tired tootsies.

So what makes Reef running sandals so special? Why are they so much better for running along the beach than the usual flip-flops which take great delight in falling off and tripping you up at every opportunity. Let’s see.

  • Reef sandals are made to be perfect for even those adventurous types – running, beach volleyball, a BBQ with friends.
  • Reef sandals have molded footbeds for added comfort, and an extra grippy outsole for added safety.
  • Reef sandals have lots of specially designed cushioning to make them feel like your regular running shoes.
  • Reef sandals are fantastic in and out of the water, and they’re fast drying too.
  • Reef sandals are designed to help keep your feet dry too, until you head for the water that is.

Some models and designs of Reef sandals also have one or two added extras, including a bottle opener fitted into the outsole, wow, those guys at Reef really have thought of everything.

How cool was that? No, don’t answer that question, I already know how cool Reef Sandals are, for beach running or not for beach running, they’re just great.
